When upgrading a WMS Pro 2.x installation from a WMS Pro 2.x version, to a 3.x version, you will need to ensure that you have a license that supports WMS Pro 3.x or request one through your Distributor.

How to check what version of WMS Pro your license supports:
To check what version your WMS Pro license supports, in the WMS Pro web interface, navigate to "Administration" > "About", and up the top you will see "WMS Pro licensed version". The version listed next to this is the version that your license supports. In the example screenshot shown below, you can see a version 3 license, that will support the upgrade:
If you see a "2" here, your license will not support the upgrade. Please read the warning below:
MUST READ WARNING:
If you attempt to install a WMS Pro 3.x version, and your license does NOT support the WMS Pro 3.x version, you will receive a warning as shown in the screenshot further below, however if you do see the message in the screenshot, please note the following warning:
WARNING: DO NOT PROCEED AT THE LICENSE WARNING SHOWN BELOW, UNLESS YOU HAVE A VALID WMS Pro 3.x LICENSE READY, as otherwise, as the warning states, functionality of the WMS Pro system will be impacted until a valid license is applied.
This is the warning you will see if you do not have a license that will support the WMS Pro 3.x installation:
As noted above, do not click to proceed unless you have a valid license ready.

Applying a 3.x license to a 2.x version:
You can apply a 3.x license to a 2.x version of WMS Pro in preparation for an upgrade, as higher versions licenses will still allow use of earlier versions.
However if you are getting an error that the license fails to apply when you try this, then you will need to reach out to your Distributor for support, as some 3.x licenses are longer than 2.x versions accept, and there is a workaround that your Distributor will be able to assist with to resolve this.
