Follow the steps below to configure outgoing email (SMTP) settings in WMS Pro.
1. Log Into WMS Pro
- Open WMS Pro.
- Navigate to Administration → Settings.
- Select the Email (SMTP) tab.
2. Configure Sender Email Address
Default From (Sender) Email Address
Enter the email address that outgoing WMS Pro emails will appear to be sent from.
Example: youremail@gmail.com
Default From (Sender) Display Name
Enter the display name that will appear as the sender.
Example: WMS Pro
3. Configure SMTP Host
SMTP Host
Enter the SMTP server address that will process outgoing mail.
For Gmail: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port
Choose the appropriate port for your encryption method:
- Port 587 (default) – TLS/STARTTLS
- Port 465 – SSL (used in this example)
Use SSL
Tick this option if using port 465 or if your email provider requires SSL encryption.
4. Enter Authentication Details
WMS Pro requires valid email account credentials to send mail through your SMTP provider.
Domain Name
You may leave this blank or set it to: gmail.com
Login Name
Enter the same email address used in Step 2 (your sender email).
Password
Enter the App Password for the email account.
Note for Gmail: A regular password will not work and an App Password will need to be configured. More information on how it can be set up can be found here:

Important: Click Save All after configuring these settings.
If changes are made and Save All isn't clicked, the following pop up will appear, informing that settings have changed, are not saved and will not use the new settings if Yes is selected.
5. Test Email Settings
Use the Test Email field to send a verification message.
- Enter any valid email address.
- Click Send Test Email.
A successful test confirms your SMTP details are correct.
Troubleshooting for common error's
Error - Username and Password not accepted
When using the App Password, be sure it's only 16 characters and no spaces are included.
Additionally, double check if 2FA is enabled within the google account.
Finally, make sure Save All is being click after any changes are made.
Error - SMTP settings not provided
This will pop up if Login name and password are not configured.
Error - Request is not valid
This will display if Save All is and the following are left blank:
- Default from (sender) email address
- Default from (sender) display name
- SMTP host
- SMTP port
