Overview
With the update to the TecomPlus Mobile App version 2.0.12.252, updates needed to be made within the app to use Apple's new framework for encrypted credential storing.
This can mean that when first using the app after the update, users may need to re-enter their PINs for their saved sites.
This is something that may also be noticed with apps from other software providers occasionally as well, where after an upgrade, a re-login, or re-entry of credentials within the app may be required. This is not uncommon, and usually due to the same types of reasons in regard to credential storage.
In this article we give some tips on how to easily achieve re-entry of the PINs in the TecomPlus Mobile App.
What to do
After updating the app, if you find that when you select a site from your list of sites, it asks you for a PIN as follows:
Firstly you can enter the PIN to access the site (if you have any issue with this - see the troubleshooting section at the end)
However you will likely then want to also enter the PIN into the site's settings to continue to save it so you don't have to re-enter it each time in the future.
Updating your saved PIN for a site:
To update the saved pin, go back to your main list of sites, and press the Pencil button on the left of the site (circled in green below):
Firstly, make sure that the "Remember PIN" option is enabled as well, as shown in the image below:
Then enter your PIN for this site in the "User PIN" box, circled in green below:
NOTE: If you have an issue closing the NUMBER pad to access the Save button:
To close the number pad after entering the PIN, simply press anywhere in the blank blue space on the page. An example of somewhere you can press is shown in the image above using a light blue dotted circle. After pressing anywhere in the blank space on the page, the number pad will then disappear.
Once you have entered the PIN, the press the Save button at the bottom of the page, as shown circled in green in the image below:
The PIN will now be saved successfully for the site again.
Troubleshooting
If you have a phone with a smaller screen, and have either a large Text Size, or Display Zoom set, you may find that when you first select a site, and try to enter a PIN, that the Cancel and OK buttons are covered by the number pad, and it may look something like this:
If you encounter this, you may need to go to your phone's Display settings, and temporarily turn off any Display Zoom, and reduce the Font Size to allow the buttons to be visible on the screen. Then you will be able to see the Cancel and OK buttons.
