HOW TO CONNECT A SMART CARD PROGRAMMER
Steps to add a Smart Card Programmer to WMS Pro:
Go to Administration > Card programmers and add a new Card programmer
- Name the Card programmer, and Auto generate an API key
- For the connection password, leave this blank if none is used for that programmer, or if they have a specific connection password set for their Smart Card Programmer, then enter that here. It will be a numeric value, and they should be able to find this from CTPlus if they were previously using this Smart Card Programmer in CTPlus.
- Select the Region that this Smart Card Programmer should be assigned to
- Ensure "Enabled" is ticked
Press Save.
Your form should look something like this:

- Now press the "Download installer" button
Run the installer that is downloaded. Note that this installer will be pre-configured with the API key and information specific to the Card Programmer entry you just created.
If you are asked to proceed with self-signed certificate, choose yes, unless you have specific certificate setups you wish to use for your site (not covered in this article):
Once the Card Programmer utility is installed, now in the "Card Programmer Settings" window, select the correct COM port for the port that your Card Programmer has obtained. If you need to check this, open Windows Device Manager, and check under "Ports (COM & LPT)". It may look something like this (but with a different COM port number):

Once you have set the correct COM port number for your device in the Card Programmer Settings window, now click the "Start" button. The utility should now successfully connect, and show something like this:

HOW TO PROGRAM CARDS
You can now program cardholder cards using this Card Programmer as follows:
Go to the Cardholder's Credentials page, and clicking the little program card button next to their credential as shown here:

You will be asked to place the card on the Programmer:
Place the card on the programmer, and the programming operation should now succeed.
If the card already has any data programmed on it, you may be prompted as to whether you want to overwrite it. If you do, choose "Yes", and the programming operation will proceed.
