Before installing WMS Pro, review the datasheet to ensure your system meets the requirements. SQL Server must also be installed before you begin the WMS Pro installation.
SQL Server Express is available as a free download from the Microsoft website, with database size limits depending on the version:
- SQL Server Express 2025: Supports up to 50 GB per database.
- SQL Server Express 2022 and earlier: Supports up to 10 GB per database.
For larger sites, consult your company’s IT team to determine the most suitable SQL Server edition.
This article guides you through a basic installation of SQL Server Express 2025 for WMS Pro. For advanced configurations, consult your company’s IT team.
- Download SQL Express 2025 from the Microsoft Website.
- Navigate to your downloads folder and run SQL2025-SSEI-Expr.exe
- The installer GUI will open and select the "Basic" installation type.
- Read through the License Terms and press Accept.
- Pick an install location for the SQL Express Server and select Install. For this article, the default location will be used.
- The installer will download the required packages and then install them. This process can take upwards of 10~20 minutes.
- Once finished you are free to close the installer.
