How to setup forcefield video client
This is a new way of video management for Forcefield. The software can be found on the install media in the Install\VSM-Install\ folder, there are 3 files in total. There is VideoEventManagerSericeSetup (VSM), VideoPresentationClientSetup (VPC) and DOTnet4.0. Previous versions of forcefield controlled the video from the node, which is still true for legacy DVRs i.e. Symdec, Symsafe but for new DVRs i.e TVR60, forcefield speaks to the VSM, which is the server for video, then loads into onto the clients through the VPC.
You can run the VSM (server) and VPC (client) on the same windows machine, and all Forcefield clients need to have VPC on their machine to view video.
YOU MUST ONLY HAVE ONE VSM.
Make sure latest forcefield client is downloaded.
Installation Instructions
In Forcefield
Go to Main Menu > Databases > Video > Video Service
• Add the video ID – up to you
• Type : Interlogix
• Address: Has to be the same as the VSM machine. Double-click in the field to configure.
• Port: 9300
• Password: up to you to decide, in this case I used ‘tpvsservice’
• Leave the others as default.
All PCs where you are going to install VSM or VPC has to have DOTNet4, which is included in the download link.
Installing VSM (Server)
When installing VSM – double click on the setup in the folder VideoEventManagerServiceSetup
• Forcefield ID MUST be the same as the Forcefield Licence Site ID.
• As for the password, it is up to you to decide.
• Leave the Port as default.
Installing VPC (Client)
• Forcefield ID MUST be the same as the Forcefield Licence Site ID.
• As for the password, it is up to you to decide.
• Leave the Port as default.
• If the VSM is the same as the client, just use ‘localhost’ but if the client is on a PC other than the machine running the VSM, please enter the IP address of the VSM.
Once all this is done, you should be able to to see a little icon in your system tray
regarding connection to your video. When this is successul, you can configure the IP address of your DVR in Forcefield
NOTE: If running the VPC and VSM on the same Windows Machine the Windows Firewall may be blocking this from working. You may wish to do port forwarding or simply turning the Windows Firewall off.
