People who are running CTPlus on high resolution displays (e.g. 4K/2160p) may notice that certain elements of the software are displayed in unexpected ways, such as windows or controls being smaller than expected. This is typically due to interactions with scaling within the Windows OS, which adjusts the size of on-screen elements (such as text, images, etc.) to improve visibility on high-res displays.
The instructions below will adjust the way that CTPlus interacts with the default Windows scaling, which should allow for a more consistent view of displayed elements.
Instructions:
- Ensure CTPlus is closed before proceeding.
- Open a file explorer window and navigate to the CTPlus installation folder (default: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tecom\CTPlus").
- Right-click on the ‘pcgui’ application, then select ‘Properties’.
- Click on the ‘Compatibility’ tab, and if applicable also click the button ‘Change settings for all users’.
- Click on the ‘Change high DPI settings’ button.
- Click on the checkbox under ‘Program DPI’. The dropdown for what DPI setting to use should already be set to ‘I signed in to Windows’.
- Click on the checkbox under ‘High DPI scaling override’, and select ‘System’ from the dropdown.
- Click the ‘OK’ button to save changes and close the windows.
Now when CTPlus is opened, on-screen elements should be displayed more consistently. Text and images within CTPlus may not appear to be as crisp with these settings applied, however they should still be readable and easy to interact with.
