Overview
This article provides a workaround for an issue you may encounter with CTPlus where, after using the Conversion Wizard to convert a V8 door or lift controller to a NAC.
The error looks as follows:
Scenarios where this may occur
This issue occurs if there are no values in the "Mains fail relay", "Low battery relay" or "Tamper relay" fields on the "V8 Door/Lift DGP options" tab of the DGP window for the V8 door or lift controller.
An example of this can be seen in the screenshot below:
After the Conversion Wizard is run, you may notice in the converted NAC, under the "NAC options" tab, that these fields are still blank as before, but the "Location" field is set to "Onboard", as seen in the screenshot below:
This causes CTPlus to expect values entered into the "Device number" field, and so when any change is then made to the NAC DGP settings, like adding an "Assigned RAS", or changing other settings, when it goes to save, it gives the error message described.
The workaround
The workaround for this issue, is to ensure that, after you use the Conversion Wizard to convert a V8 door / lift controller to a NAC, if these relay values were blank prior to the conversion, then you should go to the DGP properties, "NAC options" tab, and change the "Location" field for each of these that are meant to be blank, to "None" instead.
Only change these to none for each relay field that was previously blank - if you had values in these beforehand, they will convert correctly, and you may leave them as they are.
After fixing any problem settings, the "Location" settings should then look as follows (for an example where none of these relays had values set):
Then press the Save button, and these settings will now successfully save, and you should no longer get this error message described at the top of this article.
