Program Inputs Shunts
This option is used to program the Input shunts for the doors on the Challenger LAN. A shunt procedure inhibits an input from generating an alarm during a specified interval (shunt time) when it is unsealed. An input shunt starts when a relay is activated (usually a door unlocking). During the shunt time the input is inhibited.
If the input is still unsealed after the shunt time expires, the input will generate an alarm, depending on the input type and the status of the area.
In CTPlus, Panel Programming > Panel Options >Input Shunts
Shunt Number:
There are 16 Input Shunts available. One for each RAS/Door 1 – 16. The Shunt Number MUST be the same as the RAS/Door number.
Description:
Here you would label the Input Shunt name for reference.
Input number to Shunt:
Record here the input number to be shunted. An input cannot be assigned to more than one Shunt Timer.
Relay Number:
Enter the relay number that will control the shunt timer. If the relay is active, the input is always shunted. When the relay de-activates the shunt timer continues to run until the Shunt Time expires.
Shunt Time:
The amount of time entered here is the length of time the input is to be shunted. If the value is less than 128, then the time is in seconds. To set the time in minutes the value entered is 128 plus the time required in minutes. For 30 minutes enter 158 (128 + 30 = 158). A value of just 128 is invalid and cannot be used.
Shunt Warning Time:
The amount entered here is the amount of time before the shunt expires and the shunt warning event will be active. If the shunt time is in seconds then the warning is in seconds, shunt time in minutes then warning in minutes.
Shunt Event Number:
Program the event flag to be active when the shunt timer is running.
Shunt Warning Number:
Program the event flag to be active when the shunt warning timer is running.
Door Open Command:
If this option is selected a RAS or shunt relay is required to start the shunt timer. If this option is selected also the ‘Entry/Exit Shunt’ must not be selected.
Door Shunt in Access:
If selected, the door shunt operates when one or more area’s assigned to be shunted are in access
Door Shunt in Secure:
If selected, the door shunt operates when one or more areas assigned to be shunted are secured.
Warning: At least one of the ‘Door Shunt in Access’ or Door Shunt in Secure’ options MUST be selected before any shunting will occur.
Cancel Door Event:
The shunt timer is cancelled when the ‘Shunt Input’ is unsealed and then re-sealed
